Biography
Cassie Wong (a.k.a. Cassielelolea) is a Kuala Lumpur-based visual artist whose work seamlessly blends fluid watermarks and recognisable forms. A true “Jaclyn-of-all-trades”, Cassie is just as happy designing and painting vibrant murals as she is out and about capturing messy nature, lively streets, and moving figures in her trusty sketchbook.
In 2022, she decided to take her art to the stage, bringing her unique style into the world of digital visuals and prop design. Since then, she’s lent her creative touch to PAN Productions' Rhymba The Musical (2024) and The Producers (2023), as well as creating projection designs for Clavier Academy of Ballet’s The Passage of Time (2022).
Her creative track record includes showcasing work in solo and group exhibitions across Malaysia, receiving a CENDANA art grant in 2022, and being selected as a resident artist at the 2021 George Town Festival.
Cassie is also the founder of Le Art Shop, an online art supply store tailored specifically for urban sketchers and travelling artists. Through this venture, she supports fellow creatives in their pursuit of capturing life as it happens. Cassie also regularly hosts life drawing sessions, encouraging more people to engage with the practice of drawing from observation and experience the joy of creating art in real time.
