About Fariza Azlina Isahak

Fariza Azlina Isahak joined the film/TV industry first as an actor on TV and in films before working behind the scenes as a line producer, director and screenwriter. Throughout her early career as an actor, Fariza has worked with directors such as Hishamuddin Rais, Shuhaimi Baba, and most notably, Andy Tennant on Anna and the King (1999). She built her experience as a line producer for programmes such as Video M under the national TV station, TV1.
Alongside husband and creative partner Effendee Mazlan, Fariza has created and directed the popular TV series Kami The Series (2007) and multiple award-winning films such as Kami The Movie (2008) and Songlap (2011).
Fariza’s experience in front of and behind the camera, in addition to her love for presenting compelling, character-driven stories, has given her an edge as both a film director and screenwriter.
Besides her work in the entertainment industry, Fariza is also an accomplished artist, having held exhibitions at Valentine Willie Fine Art Gallery and the National Art Gallery. Fariza is currently working on her third film Saka (Khadam), a horror film set in the newly independent Tanah Melayu.
About Rafidah Abdullah

After graduating from University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Laws degree, Rafidah Abdullah entered the entertainment field as one of the original presenters of 3R, an infotainment programme for young women. She began writing scripts for 3R and went on to write for other television programmes such as Satelit, Generasi, Table For Two, Impian Illyana, and Kami.
In 2002, Rafidah received a Chevening scholarship to pursue her Masters in Scriptwriting at Goldsmiths College in the University of London. Since her return in 2006, Rafidah has continued hosting 3R, and has been appointed Unicef ambassador for Malaysia along with her 3R co-hosts.
Rafidah wrote and appeared in the critically acclaimed film Gol & Gincu (2005), which was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 19th Malaysian Film Festival. The film was followed up with a TV series of the same title, for which Rafidah was head writer. Her second screenplay was Pisau Cukur (2009). She also appears in a cameo role in the film Susuk (2008).
