skrin@temu focuses on Ninavau this Oct 2026
Skrin@Temu returns for its third edition with a screening of Ninavau, followed by a special conversation with the film’s director. Moderated by Alleena Abdullah, the discussion will offer audiences an opportunity to hear directly from the filmmaker and explore the ideas, stories and creative process behind the film.
Curated by Elyna Shukri, Skrin@Temu creates a space for films to be experienced not just on screen, but through conversation and exchange. The series brings filmmakers, audiences and curious minds together in an intimate setting at Temu House, encouraging deeper engagement with the stories and perspectives that shape our local film landscape.
We’re also blessed to get an event better screening experience with our sponsors; TSL (Team Sound & Light) who are one of Malaysia’s most experienced and respected entertainment industry supplier, with a rich history that began in the early 2000.

Ninavau
One shoot spiraling apart. Two generations of stardom colliding.
Ninavau, a Kadazan based in West Malaysia, returns home to East Malaysia, Sabah for her sister's wedding. Her family, deeply rooted in tradition and community values, sees her as a source of pride and a symbol of continuity. However, Ninavau carries with her a personal transformation that she has yet to share.
The Conflict: Her devout Catholic family greets her with pride, unaware that she has quietly converted to Islam and undergone a deep personal and spiritual transformation.
Inspiration: Director Bebbra Mailin drew from her own real-life experiences of facing family and cultural adjustments after moving to the Peninsula and embracing Islam.
Cast: Stars Jovenea Jim in the titular role, alongside Edward Sinsong, Tati Eliana Tonny, and veteran actors Fatimah Abu Bakar and Hasnul Rahmat.

Premiere:
It opened the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and officially premiered in local Malaysian cinemas on December 4, 2025
