Story to Screen
Every frame begins with an idea
Before the lights, before the camera rolls, and before audiences experience the final story - there is imagination.
Story to Screen, an exhibition organised by Red Communications and held at temu house, celebrates the unseen creativity and craftsmanship behind Malaysian films. The exhibition invites audiences to step behind the scenes and discover the journey of how ideas are shaped into the worlds we eventually see on screen.
Featuring artwork and behind-the-scenes materials from five Malaysian productions - Khadam, Mikael, Blood Brothers, Ejen Ali, and Kata Hati - the exhibition explores the many creative layers of filmmaking: from scripts, sketches, concept art, character development, production design, cinematography, and visual storytelling.
More than just the finished frame, Story to Screen shines a spotlight on the directors, writers, artists, designers, animators, cinematographers, and countless creative minds who transform imagination into reality.
Held over three weekends, the exhibition will also feature intimate conversations with filmmakers and creators, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear the stories behind the stories - the challenges, inspirations, and creative choices that bring Malaysian films to life.
Come discover the magic that happens before the screen lights up.
