No Age Limit: Training Through Perimenopause & Menopause

What happens to our bodies during perimenopause and menopause - and how can we continue to train, stay strong and pursue the goals that matter to us?

Join Margaret Chew and her trainer, Lyn Kong, for an honest and inspiring conversation about training through perimenopause and menopause, exploring the physical changes, challenges and mindset shifts that can come with this stage of life.

Margaret will share her personal experience of continuing to train with determination and purpose, while Lyn brings her perspective as a trainer on how exercise and training can be adapted to support the body through this transition. Together, they will explore how women can better understand their changing bodies, build strength, adjust their training and continue to pursue meaningful goals.

This is not about chasing youth or turning back the clock. It is about understanding your body, working with it, and discovering new ways to stay strong, active and capable.

Whether you are approaching perimenopause, navigating menopause, already active, thinking about returning to exercise, or simply curious about how training can evolve through different stages of life, this conversation offers an encouraging space to learn, ask questions and rethink what is possible.

Because our bodies may change, but our capacity to move, grow and challenge ourselves can continue to evolve.

Coach Lyn Kong is a certified Personal Trainer with over 20 years of experience helping people build strength, improve performance, and create sustainable, healthy lifestyles.

As a Certified Menopause Coach, Lyn specializes in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause, empowering them to navigate hormonal changes with evidence-based training, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies that help them feel strong, confident, and in control.

Beyond women's health, Lyn is a passionate HYROX coach and athlete, coaching individuals and teams to improve their endurance, strength, and race performance. Drawing from years of coaching experience and her own competitive journey, she helps athletes of all levels prepare intelligently, train efficiently, and perform at their best on race day.

Lyn believes that fitness should evolve with every stage of life. Whether coaching someone towards their first HYROX finish line, helping a woman regain confidence during menopause, or guiding clients toward long-term health, her philosophy remains the same: build strength for life—not just for today.

At the age of 57, Margaret Chew challenged herself to climb mount Everest. Her reasons - the love of mountaineering and a journey of overcoming grief.

Just 3 months before her climb, her youngest son Joseph was a victim of a freak explosion in HELP University.

Margaret talks about how she started hiking 8 years ago to tackling the highest mountain in the world and proving that Every Woman has Her Everest and what she has learned to overcome it.

The mountain, then, remains a physical objective. But it is no longer the only one. This ascent is taking place through sorrow as much as through altitude. It is defined less by conquest than by endurance.
