ALL LIFE IS RECYCLED & TIME IS A DONUT
New works by Jerome Kugan
ALL LIFE IS RECYCLED is a collection of Jerome’s works from 2017 to 2025, showcasing his continuous exploration of recycled and found materials as both catalysts for thought and prompts for memory. These materials, imbued with their own histories, become integral mediums in his artistic expressions.
The collection also includes works from TIME IS A DONUT, a body of work created during his three-month residency at basis e.V. as part of the AIR_Frankfurt programme, which presents his continuing meditations on how humans experience the passing of time - a process which began a few months after the death of his - mother, who he helped care for in the last five years of her life.
About Jerome Kugan
Born June 1975, Jerome Kugan a Malaysian artist whose practice spans across words, music and art. His work is personal, sensual, textual, dreamy, queer, punk, poetic, irreverent, silly and surreal. Graduating from the University of Canberra with a BA in Writing in 1998, he has worked as a writer/editor, arts event organiser, DJ, queer activist, and once even launched his own line of designer grilled eggplant. He is currently based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
