This year marks the 20th anniversary of architecture practice Atelier Alan Teh Architect.
And to commemorate this milestone, Alan Teh and his team has put up an exhibition that showcases 20 selected works since the establishment until recent years ranging from private residential homes, residential and commercial high rise, community place-making to industrial and educational projects.
The medium size firm is headquartered in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya and has a branch office in Penang was founded by Alan Teh in a humble 600sqft office 20 years ago.
AATA’s first major turning point came with the Fuji Electric M2 Media Plant in Kedah, which led to a project office in Prai. This was followed by resi dential and high-rise commissions, including Urban 360, Univ360, and Selayang 18. Univ360 notably won three prestigious awards in 2016, establishing AATA as a forward-thinking and community-focused design firm.
Beyond architecture, Alan Teh expanded into the arts with Atelier Art Space | Gallery and has curated over 30 exhibitions, including the Kedah Padi Art Festival. His involvement in community events like the Bukit Mertajam Art & Cultural Festival reflected his belief in architecture as a tool for placemaking and social connection.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought major challenges, including the cancellation of a major project in Johor. Despite this, no staff were laid off, with AATA focusing instead on survival and creative exploration through projects like the Loop House and One Hope Foundation.
Today, AATA is proud of its diverse portfolio spanning residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and cultural projects. As the firm celebrates this milestone, we thank our clients, partners, families, and friends for their unwavering support. Our journey continues — driven by passion, resilience, and a shared vision for impactful architecture.
The public exhibition will take place at temu house Art Gallery in Section 16, PJ. It will showcase 20 selected works using the format of drawings, photography and models. The models play an important part in this exhibition for the general public to understand the form and space of the architecture. There is a dedicated space to display many completed projects and interesting design proposals using models. We hope with this public exhibition, the general public, fellow industry partners and also budding young architects and architecture students can understand more on the
intricate details of crafting meaningful spaces.
The exhibition will commence on the 6 Sept until 21 Sept (Thurs – Sunday, Mon-Wed Off). Kindly contact us (Yi Ling 016-5372537/ Haabi 011-63171711/ Alan 0124296125) to make advance bookings for your visit and enquiries on talk series.
