Beginning Illustration course @ temu house, Summer 2025: A Charis Loke course
‘Illustration’ comes from the Latin word illustrare: to illuminate, to make something clear through representation. You can learn to craft images that evoke emotions and shine a light upon issues. Running from July to August 2025 at temu house, BEGINNING ILLUSTRATION is an introductory course ideal for learners based in KL and PJ.
Over the four sessions, we’ll explore how to learn, how to make, and how to share. We grow fastest by doing, which means lots of hands-on exercises, homework, and peer feedback. By the end, you’ll have a complete illustration to start a portfolio with.
Registration
We’re implementing a special rate ONLY for this iteration of the course: RM160 per session, RM640 for the whole course. Future iterations and the intermediate level classes will be priced differently. As each session builds on the previous one, students are expected to commit to the full course. We are unlikely to take walk-ins from the second session onwards.

Payment terms & details: 1. Payment plans: Do reach out to Mel (hellotemuhouse@gmail.com) to discuss payment plans for the course. Please note that full payment has to be made before the course begins.
2. Physical class: This is an in-person course. All class sessions are held at temu house. Signups who can make it for all classes in person will be prioritized, as it will be the best experience for students. No recording of the class will be available.
3. Missed classes: If you are unable to attend certain classes, we'll do our best to accommodate via online feedback session from Charis, based on her availability. Please note that you may miss out on peer feedback sessions in-person.
