What's Linopot, you ask? Get ready to discover a truly special Sabahan dish where fragrant rice is lovingly wrapped in aromatic leaves, creating a flavourful and satisfying culinary package.
Here's what you'll experience in this semi-hands-on workshop:
Linopot Unveiled: We'll introduce you to the fascinating history and cultural significance of Linopot in Sabah.
Leaf Identification: Learn to recognize the specific types of leaves traditionally used to wrap Linopot and understand their unique contributions to the dish's aroma and flavour.
Hands-On Linopot Making: Get ready to roll up your sleeves and try your hand at the art of wrapping your very own Linopot!
Traditional Cooking Demo: Hinava Fish (Ceviche): Witness a live demonstration of how to prepare the iconic Sabahan Hinava – a refreshing and tangy raw fish dish marinated with local ingredients.
A Taste of Tradition: Linopot Side Dishes: We'll introduce you to a delightful array of five ready-cooked traditional Linopot side dishes, complete with flavourful condiments, showcasing the diverse tastes of Sabah.
Plating Perfection: Learn simple yet elegant techniques to plate your Linopot and side dishes, making your culinary creation a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
Your Questions Answered: Engage in a Q&A session to deepen your understanding of Sabahan cuisine and the Linopot making process.
Communal Luncheon & Dessert: The best part! After the demo and hands-on session, we'll all gather to enjoy the delicious Linopot creations and side dishes together, followed by a delightful dessert. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow food enthusiasts and savour the flavours of Sabah in a warm and friendly setting.

Who is Bibi Margaret Gohulu
She started in 2014 on a part-time basis doing food canning ie savoury spread and condiments. She focuses on hot food after she left the corporate organisation in September 2020.
Her focus is Malaysia’s traditional and Bornean cuisines, incorporating locally sourced ingredients. She is also actively cooperating with small-runs farms including the rural area.
She caters to corporate and family in a small scale, and also conduct cooking classes apart from offering curated lunch boxes. She is also quite well verse and versatile cook in Mediterranean, Western and Middle Eastern dishes, where she learned while travelling overseas.
